Suicide Prevention Australia announces new post-doctoral fellowships

Suicide Prevention Australia is pleased to announce four new post-doctoral fellowships. The Post-Doctoral Fellowship provides funding for successful applicants who have already attained a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) to further their research career. The Post-Doctoral Fellowship aims to build research capacity and to develop research leadership across the spectrum of suicide prevention including universal, selective and indicated intervention, and postvention. 

The fellowship recipients are:

Dr Monika Ferguson

University of South Australia

Topic: Implementation of a safety planning suicide intervention in a major Australian hospital: consumer, carer and clinician outcomes

Dr Jin Han

Black Dog Institute – The University of NSW

Topic: Cognitive and behavioural response styles to negative affect precipitating youth suicidal thoughts
