The Australian Institute of Health and Welfare (AIHW) is responsible for the Suicide and Self-Harm Monitoring System (SSHM). This new, national system is the most comprehensive collation of data to date for deaths by suicide as well as self-harming and suicidal behaviours. It’s designed to improve the quality, accessibility, and timeliness of data on suicide and self-harm and to support policy makers, researchers, and practitioners to drive better outcomes.
About the Event:
Members are invited to join our virtual workshop as guest speakers, Chris Killick-Moran, and Rosalind Morland of the AIHW Suicide & Self-Harm Monitoring Unit explore the system, discuss recent developments, and share how our members can use data to support their work. It’s a valuable opportunity for members to build their capability around the use of datasets to support suicide prevention policy and practice in Australia.
