Wesley LifeForce Suicide Prevention Training – Disability Support Work

February 20 @ 10:00 am - 12:00 pm

Free

Wesley LifeForce has developed quality suicide prevention training suite. Our suicide prevention workshops are based on the latest research in suicide prevention and are designed to teach people how to identify the signs that someone may be at risk of suicide, how to engage and appropriate action to take.

Effective interventions can make a real difference and save lives. These life-saving conversations offer support and a safe space for open discussions while encouraging help seeking.

Our disability support work suicide prevention training is a 2-hour program which was created in consultation with disability support providers and lived experience.

The outline of the 2-hour disability support work program is:

  • Safe use of language
  • Australian suicide statistics
  • Risk factors & protective factors
  • Warning signs
  • Supporting someone & active listening
  • How to ask about suicide
  • Safety planning
  • Engaging in self-care practice

Shared lunch following the workshop
