Wesley LifeForce has developed quality suicide prevention training suite. Our suicide prevention workshops are based on the latest research in suicide prevention and are designed to teach people how to identify the signs that someone may be at risk of suicide, how to engage and appropriate action to take. Effective interventions can make a real difference and save lives. These life-saving conversations offer support and a safe space for open discussions while encouraging help seeking. Our disability support work suicide prevention training is a 2-hour program which was created in consultation with disability support providers and lived experience. This seminar is open to all Aged Care Workers and is FREE to attend. Welcome to the Suicide Prevention for Aged Care Workers in Mildura, VIC, presented by Wesley LifeForce. Join us for this 1-hour seminar on Thursday 8th May 2025 at 11:00 AM in the Eco Education Centre at the Mildura Eco Village, 15 Scherger Drive, Mildura (enter off Ontario Avenue) for essential skills training to recognise and respond to a person who may be experiencing mental health distress and who may be at risk of suicide. 1-hour program overview: Safe language when talking about suicide Australian suicide statistics Risk factors and protective factors Warning signs Supporting someone you are concerned about Notifying and recording your concerns Engaging in self-care practice Ensuring participant safety Our workshop material is specifically designed keeping participant’s safety in mind. The course material is vetted by MindFrame – an Australian Government body which provides expert advice to the suicide prevention sector on responsible reporting/portrayal of the issue of suicide.
