An exciting opportunity is on offer for an experienced Manager who will work closely with the Executive Manager Public Health and Continuous Quality Improvement to provide operational management and leadership to the Social and Emotional Wellbeing Work Unit, to ensure they meet agreed program outcomes.
The Manager will provide direct management of the following programs, including but not limited to:
- Social and Emotional Wellbeing Model of Service Pilot Program; aiming to deliver optimal, culturally appropriate SEWB outcomes for Aboriginal people, their families, carers and communities in a more culturally responsive way.
- Workforce Development and Support Unit – Greater Western Australia; aiming to provide culturally secure, trauma informed and healing aware learning and development support to the NIAA funded SEWB and AOD workforce in Greater Western Australia.
- Capacity Building: Family, Sexual and Domestic Violence Support in WA ACCHS Pilot; supporting the development and implementation of Family, Domestic and Sexual Violence practice in the Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Sector.
- Culture Care Connect Community Controlled Suicide Prevention; providing jurisdictional coordination and support to CCSPNs and aftercare services in their jurisdiction.
About You
We are looking for someone who is passionate about providing strengths based social and emotional wellbeing services and programs to Aboriginal communities.
Our ideal candidate will possess a relevant qualification, have some experience in a clinical environment, and knowledge of evidence based and culturally appropriate approaches to mental health, SEWB and AOD issues within Aboriginal communities.

The position involves working within a multicultural organisation where the majority of employees, clients and stakeholders identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander. Candidates must be able to demonstrate an understanding of the issues affecting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and their ability to communicate sensitively and effectively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
In addition to the above skills and experience, the successful candidate will require an unrestricted WA “C” Class Driver’s Licence, and be required to submit a National Police Clearance (dated within 3 months) prior to appointment.
Applicants must be legally entitled to work in Australia and will be required to provide evidence of this, such as an Australian or New Zealand passport, birth certificate, or foreign passport with a relevant working visa.
