Alison Salisbury

I have lost my son and my father to suicide. I know firsthand the difficulty of supporting someone with suicidal ideation and the impact and devastation of suicide loss. Our society and institutions have a long way to go in the prevention of suicide and supporting those who are affected by suicide. I am passionate about advocating for survivors, suicide prevention and measures to reduce the stigma and ignorance associated with mental illness and suicide. My aim is to support others and work to ensure the voice of lived experience is clearly heard and integrated into all levels of policy and implementation of suicide prevention strategies.
