The Program Advisory Committees of the 2017 National Suicide Prevention Conference –‘Relationships, resilience and respect: Responding to vulnerability in life' – would like to remind you that discounted early bird registration will close on 30 May 2017.
Suicide Prevention Australia (SPA) presents the annual National Suicide Prevention Conference to benefit those who are working in, and supported by, suicide prevention programs. Attracting over 400 delegates, the conference is recognised by governments, sector leaders and people with lived experience as an important vehicle for ensuring that those with responsibility for delivering services, are able to provide the best available support to those who are vulnerable, at-risk and/or disenfranchised in a timely and effective manner.
The 2017 Conference includes a range of plenary sessions, concurrent presentations and networking opportunities. Plenaries this year feature international suicide prevention experts Professor Ella Arensman, Professor Ad Kerkhof and Dr Kim Van Orden. Presenting in conjunction with our international guests will be some of Australia's leading suicidologists, community advocates and lived experience representatives. We are particularly pleased to have Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Social Justice Commissioner, Dr June Oscar AO as Keynote Speaker.
Pre-Conference workshops will take place on Tuesday 25 and Wednesday 26 July, and a Lived Experience Session and a Reflection Ceremony will take place on Wednesday 26 July.
