We, the National Coalition for Suicide Prevention, stand together in striving to reduce suicide deaths by 50% in the next ten years. We are pleased to see the National Mental Health Commission’s (NMHC) National Review of Mental Health Programmes and Services (the review) supports this ambition.
Now is not the time to talk; it is the time to act. We support immediate continued investment by federal and state governments in high quality, coordinated approaches with provision for increasing investment in future years. We welcome involvement in expert reference groups and are focused on building community capacity to prevent suicides.
