I was delighted to see everyone involved in the National Suicide Prevention Conference formally recognised in NSW Parliament this week by The Hon Marie Ficarra MLC and her fellow Members.
The success of the conference as a platform for sharing ideas was made possible thanks to the efforts of many individuals coming together to work toward the same goal. I would like to take this opportunity to reiterate my thanks to all of you who attended the conference and followed the conversation online. We have received such positive feedback on the conference and are already working on incorporating some of your suggestions into our plans for the 2015 National Suicide Prevention Conference in Tasmania.
I know at times it is extremely tough to work in this sector but being reminded of just how many of us are committed to working together to make a difference is inspiring. Together we can make a collective impact and reduce suicide deaths in this country by half over the next ten years.
