The Foundations to Suicide Risk Assessment workshop is designed to introduce participants to fundamental principles for suicide risk assessment, including the assessment of warning signs, exploring the relationship between risk factors, protective factors, and suicidal behaviour, together with strategies for the initial suicide enquiry.
This workshop is interactive, exploring attitudes and beliefs that can facilitate or inhibit suicide risk assessment, strategies for communicating safely about suicide, and working collaboratively with clients and their families. This workshop is perfect for any practitioner looking to refresh their knowledge, students and professionals working in mental health who may not yet have regular client contact.
It is recommended that participants support their practical learning by registering for the Engaging with Suicidality workshop. Finally, we emphasise the importance of self-care, given the challenges inherent in this work.
