Suicide Risk Assessment Australia delivers supervision and peer coaching according to an integrated and flexible approach, whereby no single model of supervision is consistently or uniformly applied, to ensure responsive and dynamic needs are met. SRAA practitioners will consider competency-based and theoretical approaches as aligning with the goals of the participant, whilst also ensuring opportunity for self-reflection, and using cultural, situational and contextual insights that benefit and drive sound service delivery. The Supervisor or Peer Coach will work to strengthen, encourage, and challenge a participant to facilitate professional growth, according to four key competencies: Practice Standards, Therapeutic Standards, Safety and Knowledge. These key competencies are relevant, independent of the background or discipline of the supervisor, noting that SRAA has supervisors from a range of backgrounds such as Psychologists, Nurses, Social Workers, and Lived and Living Experience Consultants.
