Matthew was elected Suicide Prevention Australia Chair in November 2017, is former Chairman of the National Coalition for Suicide Prevention since 2015 and has been a Non-Executive Director of the Board of Suicide Prevention Australia since 2011. He has a personal experience of suicide which has driven him to apply his professional skills to suicide prevention and play a leading role in affecting positive change.

Matthew Tukaki is a national broadcaster on the Macquarie Radio Network (ASX: MRN). He is also the Executive Chairman of social investment company Sustain Group and patron of both the Indigenous Knowledge Exchange Network for Suicide Prevention and the women’s empowerment platform, Women’s Voice. Matthew is formerly the Chairman of Deakin University CSaRO, Australia’s Representative to the United Nations Global Compact (2009-2013) and formerly an ex-Officio member of the Board of the United Nations Global Compact having been appointed by United Nations Secretary General Ban Ki Moon in May of 2013.

Matthew is also formerly the head of one of the world’s oldest and largest employment companies, Drake International, a former Chairman of the Chief Information Officers Council (2003-2016) and is a former member advising New Zealand’s Future of Work Commission.
