Our Data in Practice series will take a deep dive into the Australian Institute of Health and Welfare (AIHW) Suicide and Self-Harm Monitoring System. This national system is the most comprehensive collation of data for deaths by suicide as well as self-harming and suicidal behaviours. It’s designed to improve the quality, accessibility, and timeliness of data on suicide and self-harm and to support policy makers, researchers, and practitioners to drive better outcomes
The first webinar of the year will be hosted by Chris Killick-Moran and Rosalind Morland from AIHW and will showcase the Suicide and Self-Harm Monitoring System, focussing on data relating to the priority populations under the National Mental Health and Suicide Prevention Agreement:
· LGBTQIA+SB people
· Culturally and linguistically diverse communities and refugees
· People with a disability
· People experiencing socioeconomic disadvantage
