The MHFA Teen course is designed for secondary students in Years 7-9 and Years 10-12 to support a friend or classmate who may be experiencing a mental health problem or mental health crisis using a practical Action Plan. Students learn about the signs and symptoms of mental health problems, how to recognise and respond to an emerging or worsening mental health problem, the professionals who can help and when it’s time to get an adult involved. Teen MHFA can only be delivered when a minimum of 10% of adults have been trained in Youth MHFA.
