Become a CALM Yarn Trainer

February 26 @ 9:00 am - February 29 @ 5:00 pm

The CALM Yarn 4-day T4T Workshop

The CALM Yarn workshop is a one-day workshop that teaches four key actions: Connect, Ask, Listen, Monitor to build confidence, knowledge and skills. Developed in partnership with the Indigenous Peoples Team at Richmond Fellowship Queensland.

The T4T is effectively delivered over 4 days in-person. This ensures that all participants understand the theories, principles and models that underpin the CALM Yarn program; fully grasp and are able to demonstrate their ability to explain and use the culturally appropriate CALM Yarn model of intervention, and gain confidence in their ability to competently deliver this program to their participants.

Selection Criteria

The CALM Yarn is an indigenous suicide intervention program and the T4T is open to those that identify as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander or work on country.  See button below to access an Expression of Interest application.

What you will learn

Day 1 – When delivered face-to-face the CALM Yarn one-day indigenous program will be delivered in its entirety to give you a view of the one day presentation from a participants perspective and provide reflection and feedback. Day 2 – The CALM Yarn model will be explained and explored in detail. Review of the evidence, and practice the skills, and have conversations about different community needs and delivery.
