Mariposa Trails Suicide Prevention Network of SA is dedicated to fostering diversity and inclusivity in approaches to well-being and mental health. We believe that effective conversations and education about social health and suicide prevention should originate from within the community and encompass a range of aspects, including comprehensive training, community learning, community voices (lived experience) and culturally tailored programs.
Our nationally accredited training program – From Helpless to Hopeful unpacks multicultural mental health, stigma, creating compassion, exploring language, cultural taboos, distress and community responses to suicide prevention from a multicultural lens. The program can be tailored for Multicultural communities, workforce, volunteers and organisations. Anyone interested in learning about the multicultural voice and suicidality.
About the Facilitators – We come from diverse backgrounds, including international students, refugees, and migrants, with experience in teaching, psychology, physiotherapy, arts, political science, entrepreneurship, disability, counseling, social work, graphic arts, IT, project Management and community development.
