About Us:
Suicide Prevention Australia represents a broad network of over 400 members, including key organisations in the sector. Over 3,000 people tragically die by suicide and an estimated 55,000 people attempt suicide each year. Over 7.5 million Australians have been close to someone who has died by or attempted suicide. We are committed to influencing systemic changes, enhancing data-driven advocacy, and building capacity for suicide prevention across Australia.
Role Overview:
As a Project Coordinator reporting to the Director of Policy and Government Relations, you will play a critical role in managing and supporting our policy and government relations initiatives. Your responsibilities will include project planning and management, facilitating consultations, assisting with policy research and submissions, and providing administrative support to various committees.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and manage project schedules, resources, and information.
- Assist in the preparation of project budgets, analyse risks, and ensure quality assurance standards are met.
- Assist with policy research and the creation of written outputs such as submissions, reports, and briefings.
- Administrative support to the Policy Advisory Committee and other Committees
- Analysis and evaluation to track impact.
- Act as a key point of contact for project status updates, fostering cross-team collaboration to achieve project milestones.
Skills and Qualifications:
Essential criteria:
- Proven experience in project coordination or a similar role, with a strong understanding of project management principles.
- Exceptional communication, time-management, and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in project management tools and software (e.g., Monday.com, Microsoft Project, Trello).
- Administrative support skills such organising meetings and note-taking.
Desirable criteria:
- PMP/PRINCE2 certification
- Knowledge of or experience in the suicide prevention sector
- Lived experience of suicide
