Lifeline Direct’s AfterCare is designed to increase access and engagement with care to prevent repetition of suicidal behaviour. The program provides rapid and assertive outreach to people who have recently attempted suicide for up to three months. AfterCare coordinators work alongside individuals to provide person-centred, non-clinical, practical support in the community, to build self-resilience, social connectedness, and capacity to seek help. AfterCare progressively builds on the participant’s resources, networks, and support options to empower them and provide choice and control throughout their recovery journey. Participants may choose to access Lifeline Direct’s complementary services including counselling, Eclipse groups and care calls.
