United in Action at NSPC2019, Call for Abstracts
People researching or working in suicide prevention will be United in Action with people with lived experience of suicide at next year’s National Suicide Prevention Conference in Melbourne, Victoria.
The annual conference unites more than 600 delegates over three days from 22-25 July. “It’s an important opportunity to come together, share our learnings, network and help to move the sector forward; to achieve our goal of reducing the rate of suicide in Australia,” said Suicide Prevention CEO, Nieves Murray.
“Following news that more Australians died by suicide in 2017 than in 2016, it’s a critical time to be United in Action to prevent suicide.
“The 2019 conference theme is all about collective action. We’re keen to develop a program, grounded in lived experience, that embraces diversity in suicide prevention programs and services, encourages innovation and enhances our evidence-base,” Ms Murray said.
“Australians researching or working in suicide prevention, and people with lived experience of suicide, are invited to submit a conference abstract online.
“We’re putting together a robust, engaging program of national and international keynote speakers, and we look forward to complimenting that with a suite of presentations from people and organisations all over Australia.”
Read the NSPC2019-Abstract-Guidelines and make a submission via the Presentation Portal.
Submissions are due by 5pm Friday 15 February 2019.
